Lighting the Way Forward
Our 2023 Rocket Ball was an evening full of hope and generosity, and together we raised over $575,000 to advance safer, healthier relationships for children and families. Your support enables FamilyForward’s highly skilled staff to create partnerships with parents – and the many other people who care for kids – so they can meet children where they are, understand their needs, and support them on their journey to healing. The FamilyForward team is lighting the way forward for children and families, and by supporting FamilyForward, you are too.

Herman T. and Phenie R. Pott Child Advocacy Award Recipients
At The Rocket Ball, we awarded two very special individuals with the Herman T. and Phenie R. Pott Child Advocacy Award. This award is given annually to an individual or group that exemplifies the spirit of the Pott family’s commitment to helping children. This year, the Pott award was given to Lesley Ann Waldheim and Murph Reese.
Lesley and Murph had never met before The Rocket Ball yet, together, they are shaping and inspiring the future of FamilyForward. Determined to help children heal, Lesley made a legacy gift to FamilyForward that spans 20 years. She understands the importance of FamilyForward’s mission and believes whole-heartedly that children deserve a life free from harm. Murph served on the board for nine years, beginning in 2005, and was responsible for locating, envisioning, and remodeling the Creve Coeur location and the new developmental trauma campus. He has an outstanding ability to listen to what staff need and want, envision how it will serve the community, and add a little magic to find just the right solution.
